You’ll apply your marketing, sales, and organizational abilities to ensure profitable and financially rigorous execution of Spanish Vines’ business objectives. You will exhibit discipline and resourcefulness to meet/exceed assigned monthly quotas and placement objectives. The person that fills this position will report directly to the Executive VP of Operations and will work consistently with the CEO & Founder as well as the President & Sommelier. Below is a detailed description of what will be expected of this position.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities: 1. Selling Activities: (50%) Orchestrate on-premise sell-through activities (wine lists, menus, staff training, promotions, etc.) and off-premise sell-through activities (display penetration, shelf positioning, feature pricing, staff training, sampling, etc.) in conjunction with distributor teams. Actively participate in overall tactical pricing plan for the market with Spanish Vines company executives. Maintain and call on a focused list of off/on-premise accounts in order to maximize awareness for Spanish Vines and the portfolio in the market. Create, coordinate, and attend on-site promotional functions at established customer accounts. (i.e. wine maker dinners, product launches, and tastings). 2. Distributor Management: (20%) Lead the communication to the on-premise / off-premise overlay and general sales force(s) in regards to Spanish Vines ways of working, tactical programs and overall strategic imperatives. Manage all local resources to obtain a disproportionate share of mind to concentrate on growing Spanish Vines portfolio. Conduct "work-withs" with distributor sales reps. 3. Training: (15%) Provide for training of distributor reps and retailers on Spanish Vines brands and target consumers; including use of ambassador and other educational resources. 4. Business Analysis, Business Planning & Performance: (15%) Act as the on-premise / off-premise channel expert at the market level. Manage day-to-day performance of on-premise / off-premise performance thru Spanish Vines and distributor information systems and local market data. Monitor progress against channel specific objectives and suggest course correction where necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on contacts made, new placements secured, follow-up points, and direction. Keep abreast of all laws, regulations and policies that govern market. Keep management aware of all information pertaining to area of responsibility. Requirements: Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required. Experience / Background: Position requires at least 2 - 5 years of previous regional Sales & Business management experience in a wine and spirit sales environment, including strong distributor-management experience. Minimum Required Skills /Competencies: A successful individual will demonstrate excellent selling and leadership skills, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills as well as outstanding aptitude for time management and analytics. Thoroughness, interpersonal awareness and influencing skills as well as proficiencies in data analysis, problem-solving and customer service are key competencies for success. You will be expected to present self with integrity, professionalism and commitment to Spanish Vines salesperson responsibilities and policies. Other requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license.
