Delicato Family Vineyards has an immediate opportunity for an Area Sales Manager based out of the Boston, MA area.
Delicato Family Vineyards (DFV Wines) is a family-owned winery with over 85 years of experience in California winemaking and winegrowing, and is one of the fastest growing wine companies in the industry with wineries and vineyard interests in the Monterey, Lodi, Sonoma and Napa Valley. Well known for its steadfast commitment to crafting wines of the highest quality produced, the DFV Wines’ portfolio consists of Gnarly Head, 337, 181, Brazin, Loredona, Irony, Bota Box, Twisted, and Delicato. DFV Wines is seeking a highly driven Area Sales Manager for on/off premise accounts in Boston who reports directly to the Region Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have has a solid performance record of volume and profit plan achievement to promote and sell brands, identify new business, develop forecasts, set distributor objectives and monitor performance. Responsible for collaborating with, leading, and directing distributor management to meet/exceed the business plan and performance objectives by creating, implementing, and executing strategic sales and marketing initiatives by channel of distribution within each territory. Customers include Off/On Premise, and Independent, Regional, National and other licensed retail wine accounts. Requirements: This position is responsible for managing the DFV Wines portfolio on a daily basis with our distributor representatives to achieve weekly/quarterly objectives. Focusing on key accounts in all channels of trade in selling territory to build brands, grow business, add distribution, and increase display activity. Must be able to develop selling materials and customize presentations to the account and/or distributor, conduct wait staff training and wine tastings, and present, taste, and close the sale at the account. The job requires a minimum of four days a week in the field to execute weekly priorities and objectives, manage distributors and call on new/established accounts, may include Saturday tastings and some evening work. Minimum of 3 years of distributor management and/or wine supplier experience in selling wine, building brands, and calling on customers. Exceptional wine/market knowledge and excellent verbal/written communication, presentation, customer service, organizational, and merchandising skills are necessary to be successful. Requires strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Email) along with the ability to navigate in the Internet/Intranet environments. Must have an acceptable driving history and possess the ability to travel as needed.
